Pretty good day today. Took it kind of easy in the morning, except for Donny hitting a 160kg double on the snatch. (!!!) In the afternoon we went heavy, Jon hit his 95% lifts of 152kg and 180kg (he was motivated for those numbers, lol) and Donny hit a 170kg snatch and barely missed 175kg behind him. Some good clean and jerks from Donny and Spencer also.

For the guys, this will be an easy week, but hopefully getting up to some big weights by the end of the week. For me, it will be a fun but tiring week. I am over in Ireland with Jon, I will be doing 3 weightlifting events while here, 2 in Ireland then a 2 day event in Scotland. Should be fun. I will post some pictures, promise. But for now, even though it feels like 7pm to my body, it is actually 2am, and I need to get to sleep… I will keep everyone updated tomorrow!

Sort of a free day. Jon felt good, and went fairly heavy. Spencer was hurting a bit, as expected, and took it easy, doing several easy doubles on each lift. Anthony made a big PR front squat. Jared didn’t go that heavy but worked on technique. We did live stream the workout if you want to watch the recorded version, here it is:
If you dont want the long version, here is my son William hitting a PR set of 5 on the squat…

Finally an easy day, scheduled to coincide with a photo shoot for some more instructional posters. The guys did get some work though, doing jerks with about 85-90% for the camera, then various squats, RDL’s, and push presses and power jerks. All in all I am not sure they thought it was an easy day…

Two sessions, a lot of volume. Everyone is about at the end of their rope. Here is a video of a bunch of snatch doubles that we did in the afternoon, not any really heavy weight, but a ton of work!

No video today. This was a power clean and power snatch day, everyone did 5 doubles each exercise, as heavy as possible. All in all a fairly easy day. Hopefully the guys will recover a bit and be ready for a hard day tomorrow.
Here is Spencer with a 180kg double in the clean and jerk

Had a great but tiring weekend of Olympic weightlifting. USAW seminar went from morning till evening both Saturday and Sunday. All the guys got in a great workout saturday working with the good folks that attended the seminar.
Monday we were back at it, another high volume week and the morning workout was rough, I could tell that no one was recovered from last week and everyone was stiff and sore and moving slow. The afternoon workout was a little better, and in spite of the fatigue, Jon pulled through with a 175kg double on the clean and jerk, a PR, and Donny managed a 165kg snatch, his best since his injury at last years worlds. Here is a video of the snatch…
